For almost every artist, colour is a challenge. In this class we will look at colour schemes that are based on contrast and others on unity. We will put this knowledge in to practice by making a number of small landscapes using the same pattern but different colour schemes. Perspective, an important element of landscape design will also be emphasized. The pattern for the landscape will be supplied so that we can concentrate on colour choices rather than drawing. A sewing machine will not be necessary as the landscapes will be constructed on a base of tearaway and can be stitched and quilted at home. We will aim to complete 4-6 small landscapes that can be finished separately or joined together.

I have been teaching patchwork classes for many years and I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and skills with others. I like to challenge my students to design their own quilts but I am also happy to provide patterns for those less confident.
What began as a therapy has developed into a passion and has given me the opportunity to travel the world exhibiting my quilts, teaching classes and meeting lots of wonderful people.
